Middle Ring All The Way

I started riding mountain bikes in 1991, initially for recreation. I tried my hand at at a few XC races in the early days, entering events such as Hawkstone Park XC race, and various summer and winter series in the Shropshire area. Early successes were notable only by their absence, but my interest in racing maintained. I entered my first Polaris back in 1995. The combination of both riding and navigation disiplines interested me much more than XC, despite the fact I lacked the endurnce for a 2-day event. I entered two more Polaris events in 1996, before going back to being a weekend warrior through my university years. Now I’m a bit older, endurance is definitely my strength, which is clearly reflected in my choice of events.
